Winter has arrived! In the last few days we’ve been hit with at least 12 inches of snow {which is a lot around here!} And you know what that means… SNOW DAY! Plans for a BBQ were cancelled… {Yeah, you really should bring our patio furniture!} A «bit» of shoveling was needed… And then the good Canadian boys spent the afternoon playing snow hockey. Now this would have been a fabulous opportunity for me to catch up on some much needed work around the house. BUT, crafting is so much more fun and I decided we needed a couple Valentine’s Day countdowns for the kids… I haven’t had a chance to play with my scrapbook papers in a while and I love the chance. Use some pink paper for a change! I used an oversized pill box that I had bought at the dollar store about a year ago {I knew this would come in handy!} Then I cut out some paper {from Echo Park and My Mind’s Eye}, inked the edges, and glued it on . in. I wanted a bit of glitter for the numbers, so I sprayed some spray adhesive over the white foam letters and added glitter {pink glitter and paper in the same project – I’m in love!}. Now just add treats {or notes, or Valentine’s Day activities!} and voila! I added the “PS…I love you” just in case! Since we’ll be in Hawaii in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, this will be perfect to take with us! We are expecting another 15-20cm of snow tonight, so it looks like there will be another snow day tomorrow. Work or play?
Special moments of love
When you take the time to create a special moment, it’s something that lasts forever. During your Valentine’s week, create some special moments with your love that will make it even more memorable.
- Give them love coupons that expire at midnight on Valentine’s Day!
- Every day, try a new kiss!
- Come up with a cute nickname for your sweetheart and just call them by that name for the rest of the week
- Remind yourself and your sweetheart that you’re not just the best friend and husband and wife ( or boyfriend and girlfriend)… but also lovers. Treat your love as you would your lover.
- Make a Christmas tradition… every time you walk through a door together, kiss! Or, every time you say the same thing, kiss too!!
- Sing a variation of «Happy Birthday,» «Happy Seven Days Before Valentine’s to You,» and so on, as many times as you can throughout the day.
- Make a commitment to each other to do something romantic and together every night before Valentine’s Day, even if it’s just to be alone and talk all night!
- Give them a list of 101 reasons why you love them!
- Enjoy your favorite romantic movies on Netflix one night during the week.
- Go on a dessert date together during the week.
Propose Day 2023– February 8
The next day is the proposal day in which you should tell your lover how you feel. There couldn’t be a more fabulous day than Propose Day to pop the question, either to your relationship or your crush. Plan a romantic dinner, or it can be a week-long retreat to make it memorable and beautiful for your partner.
“Kuch meetha ho jaaye”, the dairy milk commercial, is something we can all remember (to have something sweet). That is the idea of Chocolate Day, after all. It will have to be chocolate if there is anything more precious than love. Sharing chocolate with someone you care about can strengthen your relationship.
